[02] PM Tsipras in Paris for PES meeting, Hollande confirms presence in Athens summit

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will start a series of international contacts this week starting on Thursday (August 25), when he will participate in the summit of the Party of European Socialists (PES) in Paris.

On Monday, the French government confirmed that President Francois Hollande will attend a meeting of the European South in Athens at the start of September, initiated by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

"A South Europe meeting will be held at the start of September, which was proposed by the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and which Fran├žois Hollande accepted," spokesman Stephane Le Foll said.

[03] Rhodes restaurant owners oppose to all inclusive packages

The restaurant owners of Rhodes expressed their opposition to all inclusive packages offered by the majority of the hotels on the island.

Therefore they propose the cooperation between restaurants and hoteliers that will provide tourists with special vouchers to eat in local restaurants.

As they said, the all inclusive model, inspired by the foreign tourist agents, is in full contrast with the economic interests of the local community and has serious effects on the local economy as hundreds of small and medium sized companies are struggling to survive.
