[01] President Pavlopoulos sends condolences to Erdogan for Gaziantep
terror attack
President Prokopis Pavlopoulos expressed his sincere condolences to
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday for the "barbaric and
heinous" terrorist attack in city of Gaziantep, southeastern Turkey,
which killed 50 people and injured dozens.
The general secretary of the Presidency, Ambassador Giorgos Gennimatas,
spoke with Turkey's Ambassador to Greece, Kerim Uras, to whom he
addressed Pavlopoulos' condolences for the families of the victims,
requesting they are passed on to the country's President.
[02] Renzi to visit Athens in coming days for talks on migration-paper
ROME (ANA-MPA/T. Andreadis-Syngelakis) Italy's Prime Minister Matteo
Renzi will visit Athens in the coming days for talks with Greek
counterpart Alexis Tsipras, Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported
on Sunday.
"Matteo Renzi will visit Athens in the coming days to meet Alexis
Tsipras. They have already agreed on it and will invite France, Spain
and Portugal to take part," the newspaper's founder Eugenio Scalfari
said who added he had spoken on the phone with Italy's premier.
During the phone conversation, Renzi told Scalfari that Germany is
in favour of southern European countries taking initiatives to halt
migration from Libya and northern Africa.
