[01] Respect for human rights boosts Greece's international presence,
says minister on mosque vote
Respect for human rights reinforces Greece's international position
and reach, Deputy Foreign Minister Yiannis Amanatidis said on Thursday,
during a debate on provision to fast-track the construction of a mosque
in Athens, which was approved with a wide majority.
"Its construction will end the weakening of our country's international
image and credibility, both bilaterally and in many international
organizations and forums, in which a regular dialogue is conducted on
issues of religious freedoms," Amanatidis said.
