Tsipras during his visit to Huawei group
ANA/The Greek government invests significantly, for the first time,
in the sector of Informatics and Technology because this is the oxygen
of the economy, stated Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras during his visit
to the headquarters of Huawei in Beijing.
Tsipras who is paying an official visit to China, on Sunday was toured
by the heads of the Chinese company in several departments and was
acquainted with Huawei's technological achievements as the mobile phones
5G and other smart applications.
In his meeting with the heads of the Chinese group he referred to the
establishment of the Digital Policy general secretariat and on the fact
the new development law sets the new technologies, the computing and the
research at the top of the list. He also noted that the new technologies
are a growth tool and not only a sector of the economy.
He also said that a technological park will be constructed in Athens
and proposed the twinning of Huawei technological park with Technopolis
in Thessaloniki.
On his part, the head of the Chinese company noted that the company
will offer a three-year education programme for Greek students on the
new generation technology.
