[01] Labour ministry tables social security-pension reform bill in
parliament
The Labour ministry submitted to parliament on Saturday the draft bill
on social security and pension reform.
Debate on the bill, which includes provisions for income tax, will start
at the relevant parliamentary committees next week, while the vote is
expected to take place after Orthodox Easter.
[02] Greece's public spending on R&D at a mere 0.84 pct of GDP in 2014
Public spending on research and development (R&D) in Greece were a mere
0.84 pct of GDP in 2014, showing a small increase compared to 2013 (0.81
pct) and 2012 (0.70 pct), final data from the National Documentation
Centre (NDC) showed on Saturday.
However this percentage is well below the European average of about 2
pct of GDP and the EU's target of 3 pct.
According to NDV, total expenditure in R&D in Greece reached 1,488.7
million euros in 2014, up by 23 million from 2013.
