[01] Debate on justice starts in Parliament on Tuesday
The debate on justice issues, which was postponed last week due to the
terror attacks in Brussels, is expected to start on Tuesday at 19.00,
in Parliament.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in a letter to the president of the
Parliament Nikos Voutsis asked for this debate because as he said
the public opinion has been lately poisoned by groundless complaints
concerning the government policy on justice.
[02] Members of the Communist PAME trade union occupied FinMin building
on Tuesday
Members of the PAME trade union occupied symbolically on Tuesday morning
the main premises of the Finance Ministry Building at Syntagma Square,
protesting against the "new measures in Social Security, taxation and
foreclosures that turn against the workers".
In an announcement, PAME which is close to the Hellenic Communist Party,
called all the workers to participate in the rallies, organized on
Tuesday in Thessalonica and on Thursday in Athens and "demand massively
and categorically against the tabling of the respective bill in the
Parliament"
[03] Moderate earthquake jolts Zakynthos
A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted the
island of Zakynthos on Tuesday morning.
The earthquake, which took place at 4.05 pm, was felt across the island,
while many aftershocks followed.
According to the Institute of Geodynamics in Athens, the earthquake
occured at a depth of about 10 kilometers.
There have been reports of any damages or injuries so far.
