  • [01] 22-year old Moroccan killed at Idomeni

    A 22-year old Moroccan was electrocuted at Idomeni, northern Greece, on the Greece-Fyrom buffer zone on Thursday when he touched high voltage cables.

    "The young man touched high voltage cables at the spot where OSE trains have been immobilised for days," Antonis Rigas, an official of the organization "Doctors Without Borders", said to ANA-MPA.

    Meanwhile, tension is high in the area, where hundreds of migrants have gathered shouting slogans.

    [02] The Greeks: From Agamemnon to Alexander the Great hosted at the Field Museum in Chicago

    The Field Museum in Chicago hosts the exhibition "The Greeks: From Agamemnon to Alexander the Great."

    The exhibition was inaugurated on November 24 and includes over 500 exhibits, masterpieces of the Ancient Greek sculpture, paintings and jewellery deriving from 22 Greek museums.

    The main theme of the exhibition are the Greeks as figures through the excavations data, stated Culture Ministry's secretary general Maria Vlazaki during a press conference during the inauguration.

    On his part, the curator of the exhibition William Parkinson said "it is a great honour such an important exhibition to be displayed at Field Museum; an exhibition that unravels the panorama of the Greek culture."

    [03] KKE leader Koutsoumbas to open European Communist Meeting on Dec 7 in Brussels

    The European Communist meeting, following an initiative of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), will be held on December 7, 2015 in Brussels. The meeting is entitled "We strenghten the working classes struggle against the capitalist barbarism that borns wars, poverty, refugees and migrants. For the Europe of socialis, peace and social justice."

    The meeting will take place at the Europarliament and 37 European Communist and Labour parties have already said that will attend the meeting.

    Greek Communist Party secretary general Dimitris Koutsoumbas will deliver the opening speech.
