[01] Second boat with refugees and migrants sinks during crossing to Lesvos on MondayANA-MPA - Greek authorities on Monday rescued 52 Syrian refugees in the sea between the Greek island of Lesvos and the Turkish shore, after a second boat carrying migrants sank in the region within an hour of an earlier incident near Turkey. The second dinghy carried 52 refugees and had also set sail from the shores of Behramkale (ancient Assos) on the north coast of the Adramyttian Gulf. Authorities have no information regarding missing persons on the boat and all those rescued are reported in good health. They were taken to Molyvos harbour on Lesvos. The incident occurred roughly an hour after a boat carrying approximately 45 migrants and refugees capsized in Turkish waters around noon. They were rescued by the Turkish coast guard and taken to Turkey.[02] Over 5,000 refugees arrive at Piraeus port in the last 24hANA/MPA---The ferry "Eleftherios Venizelos" carrying 2,477 refugees from Lesvos island arrived at Piraeus port on Wednesday.Earlier on Wednesday, the ferry "Ariadne" docked at Piraeus carrying 1,300 refugees from Mytilene port. On Tuesday, the ferry Blue Star Patmos brought 1,922 refugees from Lesvos to the port of Piraeus. The festival will feature more than 180 films from all over the world, including Greece, three competition sections, including "Music and Film", one of the few music documentary competitive programs in the world. The festival also includes special tributes, documentaries and some of the best homegrown Greek shorts around. The festival, to be held from September 23 to October 4, is complemented by a series of sidebar events, workshops and lectures, parties and an armful of surprises, especially conceived for this year's edition.
