  • [01] Teleconference with the participation of EU and IMF on Greece on Friday

    ANA/MPA--A teleconference on the Greek issue will be held on Friday with the participation of European Commission president Jean Claude Juncker , European Central Bank (ECB) chief Mario Draghi, Eurogroup president Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the head of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) Klaus Regling and the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde.

    ANA/MPA---Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras briefed, in his opening speech on Friday, SYRIZA parliamentary group on the latest developments.

    According to information, Tsipras referred to the referendum noting that the government received a mandate to bring a better agreement and not to get Greece out of the eurozone.

    The prime minister underlined that "we are before crucial decisions" and what matters Ģis SYRIZA parliamentary group to remain concrete and united" adding that "we came here (as government) all together and we will continue together or we will leave together".

    Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos followed and briefed in detail SYRIZA parliamentary group on the proposal that was sent late Thursday to the institutions.

    [03] The Europeans believe that the Greek proposals are on the right direction, says Potami leader Theodorakis

    ANA/MPA---The Greek proposals are currently under European Commission, ECB and IMF's microscope, stated Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis after his meeting on Friday in Brussels with European Commission president Jean Claude Juncker.

    He also noted that his first impression is that the Europeans believe that the Greek proposal is on the right direction.

    Theodorakis underlined that importance of the growth package proposed within the new context of the new deal saying that President Juncker, who is Greece's friend, is working towards this direction. He also referred that he hopes that the government will insist to the end for a European solution and reassured Juncker that Potami deputies will vote the agreement as well as, as he said, the majority of the Greek MPs.

    [04] Hollande: Greek programme serious and credible

    ANA/MPA---Greek government's new proposals are indicative of the Greek government's volition Greece to remain in the eurozone, said French President Francois Hollande on Friday saying that the Greek programme is serious and credible.

    Hollande stated "Greeks have shown determination that they want to remain in the eurozone because the programme they presented is serious and credible".

    [05] Summer sales start on Monday

    ANA/MPA---The summer sales will start on Monday 13 July and will end on Monday 31 August, it was announced on Thursday.

    According to the legislation the stores can (optionally) open the first Sunday (July 19) from the start of the sales period.
