[01] Government heading towards Sunday's referendum and looking for
solutions, gov't sources say
ANA/MPA---The government is heading towards Sunday's referendum while
also looking for a solution, government sources said early on Tuesday
morning.
According to the sources, Greece received a message from European
Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in which he called for acceptance
of the creditors' agreement as presented two days ago and requested that
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras calls on the Greek people to vote for it
("Yes"). Greece's creditors - the European Commission, the European
Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund - would consider a
change in their text, the message said, and the Greek government could
request an emergency Eurogroup.
"The Greek government is heading towards the ballot, is listening to
everything that is said and written with interest, and is working towards
a solution," the government sources said, adding that Tsipras would vote
against the proposal ("No") on Sunday.
