    The Finance ministry made a 200-million-euro interest payment to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Wednesday, according to ministry's sources.

    The next 750-million-euro payment to the IMF falls due on May 12.

    ANA/MPA---Greece will pay on Wednesday, May 6, the 200 million euro tranche to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Alternate Finance Minister Dimitris Mardas on Wednesday said speaking to private TV MEGA.

    The next installment to the IMF (750 million euros) must be paid on May 12.

    [03] Growth prospects in cruise, Posidonia exhibitions executive director Vokos tells ANA-MPA

    ANA/MPA---The executive director of Posidonia Exhibitions Theodore Vokos in an interview with ANA-MPA Webtv referred to the growth prospects of cruise and yachting in Greece.

    The 3rd Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum, that will be held on May 26-27, in Athens, will focus on the economic impact of shipping tourism in Greece, with the participation of more than 800 professionals of the sector.

    "The International Shipping Exhibition Posidonia has been established in the cruise and yachting industry. This year, we host the largest delegation of presidents and CEOs of the leading cruise companies worldwide," Vokos underlined.

    Asked if they expect more visitors from China, he replied: "This year is the year of Greek-Chinese marine cooperation. In this context, the Chinese embassy in Greece, along with the Ministry of Commerce of Hainan, which is an important tourist destination in China, decided to organize a seminar within the framework of Posidonia to enhance the prospects of cooperation between the Greek tourism operators and the Chinese ones.

    Asked on cruise's impact on the economy, Vokos said that "it will be great. According to a Hellenic Chamber of Shipping's report, the cruise and maritime tourism can bring Greece 1 billion euro revenues annually while creating 40,000 new jobs.
