ANA-MPA -- Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, arriving at the EU Foreign Ministers Council on Thursday in Brussels, said that Greece is working to restore peace and stability in Ukraine and at the same time to avoid rupture between the EU and Russia.

In a foreign ministry announcement, meanwhile, Kotzias outlined the main directions and philosophy of Greece's foreign policy, which he said will be proactive and open bridges with the whole world, describing himself and the alternate foreign ministers Nikos Chountis and Euclid Tsakalotos as Europeanists.

"We look forward to bridges with the new emerging world," he stressed, adding that "we do not see our relations in the context of our European accession and course as running counter to or conflicting with our relations with the emerging new powers."
