[01] SYRIZA spokesman: Crisis with troika is artificialANA/MPA---Main opposition SYRIZA spokesman Panos Skourletis on Friday stressed the need for elections as soon as possible."Whoever wants can be confused, but things are perfectly clear. It is necessary to go to elections as soon as possible. The current parliament is not entitled to elect President of Republic," Skourletis said speaking to private radio "Parapolitika". Referring to government's negotiations with the troika, Skourletis called the current crisis an artificial one and not a substantial one. "The prime minister gave the sign of hasty retreat before the troika and has not at the least disputed the memorandum policies," he said adding that if SYRIZA becomes government, the first step towards the cancellation of the memorandum will have been made. "Everybody knows that when SYRIZA wins the elections, our lenders will start an essential negotiation. Discussion with our lenders is one thing and negotiation with the troika is another," he added. SYRIZA spokesman also noted that "the extension of the memorandum or the exit to the markets is not the dilemma" adding that "there is a primary surplus to cover salaries and pensions and the money borrowed are used for the repayment of loans." "So we can start a negotiation and we will see where money to pay off our debts will be found," he said.
