Moreover, as Greek Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos said after his meeting with Samaras on Wednesday at the Maximos Mansion, the government is exercising a comprehensive policy on the EEZ issue: "We are concurrently in contact with Egypt, Italy and we have a pending issue with Albania and a long standing open one with Libya...In the last few months, in the last few years we have had a law that the country did not have, the law 4001/2011 on the extreme limits of the continental shelf and of the EEZ. This law has been submitted to the UN and exploration tenders for blocks in the Ionian Sea and south of Crete have been launched. These are the real facts, these are the significant developments," he said. Athens News Agency: News in English Directory - Previous Article - Next Article |
