[01] ELSTAT revises Greek recession rate for 2013 to -3.3 pct
ANA-MPA -- Greece's independent statistical authority on Friday announced
that it was revising Greece's GDP growth rate for 2013 to show a slower
rate of recession after reviewing national accounts and including new
data and methods for estimating GDP. Based on the new figure, Greece's
GDP shrank by -3.3 pct instead of -3.9 pct in 2013, with the new method
giving an annual GDP of 182.438 billion euros, increased by 384 million
euros from the figure of 182.054 billion euros given by previous methods.
On the basis of the revision, Greece's GDP in 2010 was 226.2 billion
euros, or four billion euros more than the estimate of 222.2 billion
euros given at that time.
