Greeks'suffering'
ANA-MPA - President of the Republic Karolos Papoulias expressed the
hope that August 15 (Dormition) "is the beginning of the end of the
Greek people's suffering" after attending services for the Dormition
of the Virgin Mary on Friday.
In comments after attending services at the Greek Orthodox Church of
the Virgin Mary of Strangers (Panagia ton Xenon) on the Ionian island
of Lefkada, Papoulias said, "This is a great day for Orthodoxy, and I
wish a long and happy life to all Greeks. I hope today is the beginning
of the end of the Greek people's suffering."
