[01] PM Samaras' call with US Vice President Biden
ANA/MPA---Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Tuesday had a phone
contact with US Vice President Jo Biden. The two officials discussed
the prevailing conditions in East Ukraine and the Cyprus issue.
The White House in an announcement stated: Vice President Joe Biden
spoke today with Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras about bilateral
relations, the situation in eastern Ukraine, and Cyprus. The two leaders
expressed their appreciation for the strong bilateral ties and alliance
between Greece and the United States. On Ukraine, the leaders agreed
that Russia's continued provision of heavy weapons and equipment to
the separatists in eastern Ukraine required a firm and unified response
from the European Union and the United States. With regards to Cyprus,
the Vice President informed Prime Minister Samaras about his recent trip
to the island in May, and the leaders discussed their strong support for
a comprehensive settlement to the conflict that would reunify Cyprus as
a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation with political equality.
[02] Four investors for Afantou, Rhodes property assets
ANA/MPA---Four investment groups submitted binding offers for the
exploitation of a real estate property in Afantou, Rhodes, Hellenic
Republic Asset Development Fund said on Tuesday.
In an announcement, HRADF said that the four investment groups were:
Aegean Sun Investments Limited, Dimand Real Estate Development and
Construction, MA Angeliades Inc and Hatzilazarou Enterprises.
The Fund's board will decide in a forthcoming meeting over the validity
of the offers based on the recommendations made by its financial and
legal advisors, before opening the bids.
The Fund also added a total of 26 real estate property assets to a list
of assets for sale through its innovative e-auction platform. Twelve of
these 26 assets are located in the traditional Plaka region, in Athens.
