In a monthly report, IOBE said pessimism among citizens and enterprises over economic developments in the country continued falling, with expectations recovering in the services sector and business climate improved in the manufacturing, retail commerce and construction sectors.

Consumer confidence improved for the fourth successive month to the less negative levels in the last four-and-a-half years. Part of the improvement reflects a very positive trend in tourism.

More analytically, business expectations in the manufacturing sector turned positive, with estimates over the current level of orders and demand gaining ground and the inventory index recovering.

Business expectations in the services sector showed a marked recovery in current activity and demand, while estimates over short-term demand rising at a slower pace.

In the retail commerce sector, estimates over short-term outlook improved with the inventory index rising slightly.

In the construction sector, estimates over work program improved slightly along with the employment index.

In consumer confidence, estimates over the financial situation of households and the economy in the next 12 months rose significantly, while intention to save money deteriorated slightly.
