    ANa/MPA---Prime Minister Antonis Samaras voted on Sunday for the local administration elections at the southern Greek city of Pylos.

    Leaving the polling station he made the following statement: Democratically and with unity we are exiting from the crisis.

    The premier will depart for Athens within the next hour

    [02] Venizelos: This day is dedicated to the local communities

    ANA/MPA--Government Vice President, foreign minister and PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos exercised his voting right on Sunday at 10.15 am in Thessaloniki for the local administration elections.

    After casting his vote Venizelos stated "this day is dedicated to the local communities and to the local administration. The citizens are electing the best mayors and the best prefects. We hope their selection today and next Sunday to be a selection that will help the growth, the employment and the citizens' services on local and regional level.

    [03] Olympic medallist dies in car accident

    Rythmic gymnastics Olympic medal winner Anna Pollatou died in a car accident on Saturday on Patras-Pyrgos national road as her car crashed with a truck close to Varda, Elis, Western Greece.

    The 31-year-old Olympic winner died instantly while the two passengers of the truck suffered injuries and were transported to Pyrgos Hospital.

    "During her short life, Anna Pollatou was devoted to a difficult and noble sport," Culture and Sports Minister Panos Panagiotopoulos said after he was informed regarding the tragic event while alongside Deputy Minister for Sports Yiannis Andrianos expressed their condolences to the family.

    Anna Pollatou was born in October 1983 in Cephalonia and beside the Sydney Olympics distinction in 2000, she had won several other medals in various championships and competitions around the world.
