Karaviti) A spokesman for German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday confirmed that the German chancellor intends to visit Greece on April 11.Spokesman Georg Streiter said that Merkel will have a meeting with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras during the visit but declined to give further details, promising that these would be released over the coming days. The planned visit had been leaked in a report by the German newspaper "Suddeutsche Zeitung" published on Wednesday. Citing sources, the paper said the visit was being made to "support the reforms of the Greek prime minister, who is coming under intense political pressure at home." [03] Finance Ministry auditors check 908 NGOsANA/MPA---The cases of 908 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are under scrutiny by Finance Ministry auditors, according to a document by Deputy Finance Minister Giorgos Mavraganis tabled in Parliament.Those NGOs are included in the first round of checks, while according to Mavraganis more organizations will be checked. Mavraganis was responding to a question by SYRIZA deputy Dimitris Gelalis regarding NGOs and penalties imposed on them.
