[01] Central Greece farmers planning rally in Athens on Wed.
ANA-MPA -- Farmers plan to hold a nationwide rally on Wednesday in Athens,
responding to what they say is failure by the Greek government to fulfil
their demands, pending a decision on Saturday.
Farmers decided to propose the action during a meeting on Friday
afternoon at the roadblock of Nikea, central Greece, a major agricultural
production belt of the country. Their decision follows a meeting their
representatives held with the Finance minister on Thursday which they
said was not successful.
The proposal for the Athens rally will be submitted to the representatives
of roadblocks across Greece, who will meet at the Nikea blockade
on Saturday at 2:00 pm to decide and to coordinate their future
mobilisations.
Nikea farmers also called citizens to join another nationwide rally,
the third in a row, at the Nikea blockade, on Sunday noon (12:00).
