[01] Stournaras briefs Trichet on course of Greek economy
ANA-MPA/ Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras' meeting on Tuesday with
visiting former president of the European Central Bank (ECB) Jean-Claude
Trichet was concluded.
According to a finance ministry top official "Mr. Trichet has still a
great influence. He supports our positions".
According to information, Stournaras briefed Trichet on the course of
the Greek economy and on the Greek government's next moves to reduce
the public debt.
On Monday, Trichet appeared optimistic that Greece's efforts will be
vindicated stating that "the country has succeeded a spectacular fiscal
adjustment and now it has a small primary surplus from a deficit of 15
percent of GDP.
