    ANA-MPA -- President Karolos Papoulias will be visiting Telendos for the Epiphany celebration on Monday, accompanied by Shipping Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis. President Papoulias and Varvitsiotis will be attending the blessing of the waters ceremony and the immersion of the Holy Cross in Telendos and then they will be visiting the islands of Pserimos and Kalymnos.

    Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will attend the waters blessing ceremony in the city of Kalamata, in the Peloponnese, and Defence Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos will visit Kastelorizo to attend the Epiphany celebration and the immersion of the Holy Cross.

    [02] Weather to get worse on Epiphany

    ANA-MPA -- A weather front is expected to sweep across Greece during the Epiphany holiday on Monday, bringing rain, storms and strong winds. According to the weather service, the phenomena will initially affect western and southern parts of the country, in the Ionian islands, western Greece and Southern Peloponnese.

    By midday they will have spread to the rest of the Peloponnese, the Cyclades islands, Crete and the eastern mainland and start to abate from the afternoon from the northwest.

    Strong rain and storms are also forecast in the eastern Peloponnese, Cyclades, Crete and the Dodecanese island group on Tuesday.
