[01] Strong earthquake jolts Crete
A strong earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale was recorded at
4:12 pm on Saturday 60km west of Hania, Crete island and 274km south of
Athens .
The quake's epicenter was located in the sea region 60 km west of Hania,
Crete island and was felt in the prefectures of Hania, Rethymno, Heraklio,
on the Cycladic Islands and in the Peloponnese.
The tremor's epicentre depth was 23 km while three minor aftershocks
have been already recorded.
No damages or injuries have been reported.
