[01] State privatisation agency head resigns; 'No delays to programme',
official says
ANA-MPA -- Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED) president
Stelios Stavridis tendered his resignation on Sunday evening, after an
earlier announcement by Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras urged him
to resign.
"I warmly thank the wonderful team of TAIPED for the excellent and
constructive collaboration we had," Stavridis said, "and I hope the
government, with which I also collaborated perfectly, moves dynamically
and with success in its extremely difficult by nationally imperative
work of privatisations."
Fund chief executive Yannis Emiris told Reuters on Sunday Greece's
privatisation programme is not going to be affected by the resignation.
Emiris said he himself was keeping his post, adding that Stavridis'
resignation was for "ethical reasons" and that there would be "absolutely
no delays to the programme."
