[01] SOCAR offer for Greek natgas operator DESFA accepted
ANA-MPA -- Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund on Thursday
announced it has unanimously accepted an improved offer submitted
by Socar, worth 400 million euros, for the purchase of 66 pct of the
natural gas transmission system operator DESFA, of which 31 pct will
go to HRADF and 35 pct to Hellenic Petroleum (the company's board will
meet on Friday to approve the transaction).
In a statement, Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund said "it was
welcoming Socar in the Greek market with great satisfaction, as a very
serious and strategic partner, which will contribute decisively to
our economic growth. The future benefits are multiple both for Greek
consumers and the competitiveness of Greek industry".
