[01] State privatisation agency approves new offer for DESFA sale
ANA-MPA -- The state privatisation fund (TAIPED) informed Socar, the
Azeri natural gas company, that it is giving the go-ahead to the buyout
of 66 percent of DESFA, the Natural Gas Transmission System Operator,
according to sources.
Socar's new and improved offer, worth 400 million euros, will pave the way
for the country's participation in the TAP natural gas pipeline project.
In an announcement Thursday, TAIPED said that it was satisfied with
the offer and had started the process of completing the bid the soonest
possible.
