AMNA-Career banker Ioannis Stournaras, until recently the caretaker
minister of development, competitiveness and shipping, was on Tuesday
named Greece's new Finance Minister.amna
Stournaras, who also served in the past as governor of Emporiki Bank
and subsequently general director of the IOBE Foundation for Economic
and Industrial Research, assumes the post after designate minister
Vassilis Rapanos declined the ministry on Monday due to health reasons.
