[01] Dozens of civil servants, police officers slapped with corruption
charges in 2011
AMNA /Greek Police's (EL.AS) internal affairs division filed criminal
charges against 129 civil servants (police officers, customs officers,
urban planning department personnel, etc.) on corruption, bribery and
other offences, while 38 individuals were arrested based on 2011 records
made public on Friday.
Criminal charges have been filed against 21 individuals and 17 have been
arrested in the first four months of 2012.
The figures were presented to caretaker Citizen Protection Minister
Eleftherios Economou, who visited the agency accompanied by the Greek
Police Chief.
