[01] Greek budget cash deficit down 55% in Jan-Apr
AMNA / Greece's central government cash deficit shrank by 55 pct in the
January-April period this year, compared with the corresponding period
in 2011, the Bank of Greece announced on Friday.
The central bank, in a report, said the central government cash deficit
decreased to 3.061 billion euros in the first four months of 2012, from
6.820 billion euros in the corresponding period of 2011. During this
period, ordinary budget revenue remained virtually unchanged and amounted
to 14.720 billion euros, from 14.717 billion euros last year. amna
Ordinary budget expenditure decreased by 10 pct to 18.479 billion euros
from 20.589 billion euros in January-April 2011. The central bank said
that the Public Investments Programme reported a surplus of 549 million
euros in the January-April period, from a deficit of 703 million euros
