    AMNA--Fugitive pro football owner Makis Psomiadis is expected to be extradited to Greece at 2 p.m. (12.00 GMT) on Monday, by an Interpol unit stationed in Skopje, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (fYRoM). He will be turned over at a northern Greece border post to an Interpol unit stationed in Athens.

    Psomiadis was arrested in downtown Skopje on Nov. 9, 2011 on an Interpol warrant.

    He fled to the neighbouring country after posting bail following yet another arrest in a southeast Athens villa, where he also lived as a fugitive. amna

    The justice ministry in Skopje granted a request for extradition by the corresponding ministry in Athens.amna

    Psomiadis, who recently owned the Kavala FC team and at one-time controlled Greek powerhouse AEK Athens, is charged with forming a criminal gang; legalising revenue from criminal activities; extortion and complicity in the commission of fraud.

    [02] Athens Stock Exchange opening: Rise

    Equity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Monday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 0.40 percent, standing at 698.53 points at 11:00 am, and turnover at 2.125 million euros.

    The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 1.09 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was down 0.06 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.15 percent.

    Individual sector indices were moving upward, with the biggest gains in Banks, up 1.96 percent; Telecoms, up 1.63 percent and Food and Beverages, up 1.41 percent.

    The only losses were in Travel and Recreation, down 0.61 percent and Technology, down 0.16 percent.

    Of the stocks traded, 24 were up, 10 were down, and 13 were unchanged.
