[01] PM tells Cabinet: 'Titanic job'
AMNA--The Greek Cabinet on Friday approved the issue of a public
invitation for the PSI bond swaps, during a meeting chaired by prime
minister Lucas Papademos.
In a brief statement to the Cabinet, Papademos told his Cabinet that
the government was pushing forward a "titanic job", noting that the
legislative work that is required before the new loan agreement is
signed is progressing at a "satisfactory pace".
He added that there were still outstanding matters concerning the issue
of the relevant circulars and Ministerial Acts that need to be completed
by Wednesday, February 29, when the next EU summit is scheduled.
Those outstanding matters concern the labour and health ministries and
that need to be finalised so that he and finance minister Evangelos
Venizelos may present them to the European partners at the summit and
the Eurogroup, respectively. In that context, the Cabinet will convene
again on Tuesday, February 28, he said.
