[01] Cooperation gov't for next two years better for the country
AMNA--PASOK leader and former prime minister George Papandreou referred
late Thursday, in his address to the party's parliamentary group, to the
date of the general elections noting that "New Democracy (ND) hopes to
win, however if it wins the elections, the victory will be marginal",
adding that "it would be better for the country to have for the next
two next years a cooperation government, in order to proceed".
PASOK's parliamentary group will convene again when the new loan agreement
is ready in order to discuss it and decide the party's stance on the
vote in the parliament plenum. amna
Papandreou stressed that the dilemma exists "...and we must answer whether
it is in the country's interests to vote in favour, for liquidity in the
market, increasing wealth and reducing unemployment, or to vote against
and say 'no' with all the repercussions that this will entail for the
Greek people".
