    Stocks ended flat in the Athens Stock Exchange on Thursday, as selective buying halted a three-day decline of the market which pushed the composite index 5.60 pct down. The index rose 0.29 pct to end at 1,262.64 points, with turnover a low 81.550 million euros. The Big Cap index rose 0.58 pct, the Mid Cap index ended 0.39 pct higher and the Small Cap index fell 0.48 pct.

    Alpha Bank (4.14 pct), National Bank (3.16 pct), Titan (2.39 pct) and PPC (1.81 pct) were top gainers among blue chip stocks, while OTE (3.49 pct), ATEbank (3.33 pct) and Hellenic Petroleum (2.81 pct).

    The Bank (1.97 pct), Raw Materials (1.66 pct) and Utilities (1.53 pct) sectors scored the biggest percentage gains of the day, while Financial Services (4.65 pct), Telecoms (3.49 pct) and Technology (2.70 pct) suffered losses.

    Broadly, decliners led advancers by 66 to 60 with another 40 issues unchanged. Altec (20 pct), Koumbas (20 pct) and Varvaressos (14.29 pct) were top gainers, while Vovos (11.97 pct), Alapis (10.71 pct) and Sanyo Hellas (10 pct) were top losers.
