    Stocks moved higher at the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday, with the composite index rising 1.30 pct to end at 1,611.09 points. The index was up 3.06 pct early in the day. Turnover was a moderate 130.988 million euros. The Big Cap index rose 1.40 pct, the Mid Cap index moved 0.44 pct higher and the Small Cap index rose 1.62 pct. Cyprus Bank (1.08 pct) was the only blue chip stock to end lower, while Alpha Bank (3.66 pct), MIG (3.53 pct), Viohalco (2.44 pct), Eurobank (2.06 pct) and OPAP (2.13 pct) scored the biggest percentage gains.

    The Chemicals (2.81 pct), Industrial Products (2.62 pct) and Financial Services (2.42 pct) sectors scored gains, while Commerce (1.62 pct) and Media (1.62 pct) suffered losses.

    Broadly, advancers led decliners by 113 to 46 with another 57 issues unchanged. Elfico (18.18 pct), Lanakam (16.98 pct) and Alter (16 pct) were top gainers, while Imperio (18.6 pct), PC Systems (16.67 pct) and Altec (14.29 pct) were top losers.
