[01] Violence in Keratea protestIncidents broke out yet again Tuesday night in Keratea, eastern Attica, between riot police and residents in continuing protests against the construction of a landfill in their district, with at least five people arrested and riot police resorting to teargas.Five people were arrested in police raids on four homes, charged with participation in the violence, and are due to be led before a public prosecutor on Wednesday. Three more persons were taken in for questioning, while several protestors and police were injured in the incidents. The violence erupted when hundreds of protesting residents attacked the MAT riot police forces on Lavriou Avenue, where locals have set up a roadblock. Riot police used teargas to disperse the protestors, while homemade firebombs and rocks were thrown against police and at the local police station, breaking several windows. Police made extensive use of teargas on a handful of occasions, before calm was restored about an hour after midnight. More details on the subscriber's page of ANA-MPA | Subscription request form [02] ASE opening: Marginal declineEquity prices were declining at the opening of trade on Wednesday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index down 0.02 percent, standing at 1,669.53 points at 11:30 am, and turnover at 23.363 million euros.Individual sector indices were mixed, with the biggest gains in Mass Media, up 3.26 percent; and Health, up 1.25 percent. The biggest losses were in Food & Beverage, down 2.21 percent; and Telecoms, down 1.48 percent. The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 0.11 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.60 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.19 percent. Of the stocks traded, 48 were up, 35 were down, and 25 were unchanged.
