  • [01] Merchants: Call off mass transit strikes

    ANA-MPA/Merchants' groups on Monday called for the suspension of public transport strikes in the greater Athens area to allow shoppers easier access to the Greek capital's commercial centres, amid ongoing and rollover strikes, a plea that was partially fulfilled by unions.

    Specifically, all public transports will operate as normal between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday.

    "The country's businesses and people are collateral victims in the confrontation between the government and vested interests," Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEA) President Constantinīs Mihalos stressed.
