    ÁÍÁ-ÌPÁ/Greek Police bomb disposal experts on Thursday detonated a parcel bomb addressed to the French embassy, after being alerted by a courier service's employees in the Kallithea district of Athens of a suspicious package.

    examining a "suspicious" package at a courier service in the Kallithea district of Athens that is addressed to the French embassy in Greece, while they have also received calls from another courier service in Markopoulo of five more parcels addressed to embassies.

    The first parcel was reported by the ACS courier office in Kallithea, and the other five by the UPS courier service in Markopoulo, where another team of bomb disposal experts was on the way.ANA-mpa

    The suspect package was detonated with a controlled explosion, and was found to have contained an explosive device hidden in a book. The device was in a package that gave the bogus sender as the Archbishop of Athens.

    Police were also examining five more parcels addressed to embassies at a UPS courier service office in Markopoulo.
