[01] Stocks end moderately lower
Greek stocks ended moderately lower in the Athens Stock Exchange on
Wednesday, reflecting lack of specific directions in the market. The
composite index fell 0.46 pct to end at 1,523.06 points, with turnover
shrinking to 82.20 million euros.
The FTSE 20 index fell 0.86 pct, the FTSE 40 index ended 0.41 pct
higher and the FTSE 80 index eased 0.05 pct. The Food (2.21 pct) and
Commerce (1.97 pct) sectors scored gains, while the Travel (7.07 pct)
and Telecoms (1.83 pct) sectors suffered the heaviest percentage
losses. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 87 to 70 with another 57
issues unchanged.
Edrasi (20 pct), Compucon (20 pct), Klonatex (16.67 pct) were top
gainers, while OPAP (8.59 pct), Euroholdings (8.33 pct) and Texparet
(8.33 pct) were top losers.
