Greek stocks lost further substantial ground in the Athens Stock
Exchange on Friday, hit by a wave of selling that spread throughout the
market. The composite index dropped 3.73 pct to end at 1,878.91 points,
losing 8.27 pct in the week. Turnover was an improved 294.668 million
euros.
The FTSE 20 index fell 4.02 pct, the FTSE 40 index dropped 3.18 pct and
the FTSE 80 index ended 3.35 pct lower. All sectors ended lower with
the Financial Services (6.49 pct) and Banks (5.15 pct) suffering the
heaviest percentage losses of the day.
Karamolegkos (9.30 pct), Ekter (9.09 pct), Hellas online (5.66 pct),
Minerva (4.76 pct) and Tzirakian (4.55 pct) were top gainers, while
Elbisco (16.67 pct), United Textiles (14.29 pct), Koumpas (13.79 pct)
and Klonatex (11.11 pct) were top losers. Broadly, decliners led
advancers by 190 to 18 with another 29 issues unchanged.
