[01] Turkish airliner lands in Thessaloniki after pilot receives
threatening call
(ANA-MPA) -- A Turkish jetliner belonging to the Sun Air carrier made
an unscheduled landing at Thessaloniki's Macedonia Airport early Friday
afternoon after the pilot reportedly received a telephone call -- in
flight -- threatening his life and consequently the safety of the 60
passengers and crew on board.
The pilot of the aircraft, en route from Germany to Turkey,
communicated immediately with the control tower at the airport and
requested permission to land.
Authorities searched the aircraft, while passengers were also being
checked.
