  • [01] ASE opening: Rise

    Equity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Monday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 2.16 percent, standing at 2,207.29 points at 10:55 a.m., and turnover at 47.6 million euros.

    Individual sector indices were moving upward nearly across the board, with the biggest gains in Banks up 4.19 percent; Technology, up 3.16 percent; and Food and Beverages, up 2.15 percent.

    The biggest losses were in Chemicals, down 1.22 percent; Telecoms, down 0.97 percent and Oil and Gas, down 0.32 percent.

    The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 2.56 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.67 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 1.06 percent.

    Of the stocks moved, 95 were up, 33 were down, and 16were unchanged.
