[01] New archaeological museum in Patras
The new archaelogical museum of the western port city of Patras was
inaugurated by Culture Minister Antonis Samaras who noted that the new
museum "highlights the extremely rich, though not particularly known,
cultural heritage of Achaia prefecture in the western Peloponnese",
adding that Patras from now on will acquire a position on the
international cultural map".
Samaras announced that a land expanse next to the Museum, which has
been conceded by the municipality of Patras, will be turned into a new
cultural park, and pledged that his ministry will see to the park's
speedy completion.
