[01] PM congratulates Bulgaria's Boiko on election victory
Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis on Monday sent a letter to the head of
Bulgaria's GERB party Boiko Borisov, congratulating him on his party's
victory in Bulgaria's general elections on Sunday and wishing him every
success in his work.
In the letter, Karamanlis expressed confidence that "the existing
strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between Greece and Bulgaria
will be further strengthened for the benefit of both peoples and for
the benefit of stability and prosperity in the surrounding region."
The Greek premier also noted that the "commitment of both countries to
common values and principles in the framework of the European Union and
the EuroAtlantic Alliance, the systematic cooperation in strategic
sectors of the economy and their desire to endow new qualitative traits
to regional cooperation in southeastern Europe send a symbolic message
and act as an example for bilateral collaboration for all their
neighbours in the western Balkans."
