    The Monday edition of Athens' dailies at a glance

    The closure of parliament ahead of the June 7 European Parliament elections, the resignation of main opposition PASOK MP and former minister Christos Verelis, prime minister Costas Karamanlis' address to his ruling New Democracy (ND) party's central committee and PASOK leader George Papandreou's address at a rally in Kozani, were the main front-page items in Athens' newspapers on Monday.

    ADESMEFTOS TYPOS: "The Prime Minister continued the hammering, responding to Papandreou's populist provocations".

    APOGEVMATINI: "Karamanlis shouldering himself the entire struggle - In Thessaloniki, he opened the campaign for the Euro-elections".

    AVRIANI: "New storm of bribes (revelations) ahead - In addition to Siemens and MAN affairs, two more German giants that 'grabbed' projects and procurements worth hundreds of billions were bribing Greek politicians and senior administrative officials" under the eight-year term of former PASOK prime minister Costas Simitis.
