[01] Vandals attack banks stores in Kolonaki
A group of hooded vandals, reportedly self-styled anarchists,
attacked on Friday several storefronts belonging to banks as well as
parked cars in the upscale Athens district of Kolonaki. According to
reports, the suspects appeared suddenly, throwing stones, pieces of
wood and other objects. Minor damages were reported.
[02] Athens Stock Exchange : Rise
Equity prices were rising on Friday on the Athens Stock Exchange
(ASE), with the basic share price index up 1.63 percent, standing at
1,579.36 points at 14:15 p.m., and turnover at 54.9 million euros.
Individual sector indices were moving mostly upward, with the
biggest gains in Banks, up 2.83 percent; Health, up 2.77 percent;
and Personal and Household Goods, up 2.53 percent; and Public
Utilities, up 2.05 percent.
The only losses were in Mass Media, down 1.66 percent.
The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was
up 1.82 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 1.96 percent, and
the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was up 0.84 percent.
Of the stocks moved, 149 were up, 48 were down, and 45 were
unchanged.
