[01] Greek Parliament TV documentary wins first prize
A documentary produced by the Greek Parliament Television Channel in
cooperation with the Parliament Library has received the Best Creative
Documentary award in the 1st London Greek Film Festival, LGFF, held on
November 13-16. The documentary titled: "This is London. 1939-2005.
The Beginning and the End" directed by Aris Fatouros refers to the BBC
Radio Greek Service that was closed down and stopped broadcasting on
December 31, 2005 after 66 years on the airwaves. The documentary
refers to different historical periods from the post-WWII civil war in
Greece to today using footage from national audiovisual archives, the
BBC, the ERT Greek national radio-television and the Greek Parliament
as well as many Greek documentaries.
