[01] Inner Cabinet to focus on economy
The Inner Cabinet, chaired by prime minister Costas Karamanlis, meets
on Wednesday to discuss the economy, including a plan for fortifying
the Greek banking system amidst the current global credit crisis.
Afterwards, Karamanlis will depart for Brussels, to take part in the
interim EU Summit that opens later in the afternoon.
Following the conclusion of the two-day summit, the Greek prime
minister will fly to Frankfurt, for a meeting on Friday with European
Central Bank (ECB) president Jean-Claude Trichet.
