Transport and Communications Minister Costas Hatzidakis on Wednesday met with the board of the Panhellenic Federation of Railway Workers (POS) and said that the governmentās measures for the modernization of the Greek Railways Organization (OSE) will be announced during the first fifteen days of August.

[02] āFiber To the Homeā in Greece

Economy and Finance Minister George Alogoskoufis and Transport and Communications Minister Costas Hatzidakis on Wednesday discussed the basic directive lines for the growth of a network access through the ?Fiber To the Home" (FTTH) regarding two million households and businesses in the country.

The project is incorporated in the framework of the ?Digital Strategy 2006-2013?, extending the digital structures and broadband network which have already been developed.

The project will be implemented through the Public and Private Sector Venture (SDIT) and will give Greece the possibility of pioneering and winning a very big developmental bet, as announced by the Finance Ministry.
