    A moderate earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale rattled the Ionian island of Cephallonia on Monday morning, but no inuries or damage were immediately reported.

    The earthquake was recorded at 8:02 a.m., with its epicentre 300 kilometers west of Athens in the sea region southwest of the island.

    According to seismologists, the trembler was strongly felt because it came from a shallow epicentral depth.

    The debate that opened in parliament on the DEKO (Public Utilities and Organizations) amendment and the replacement of ruling New Democracy (ND) MP Yannis Manolis in the parliamentary recess session following the strong disagreement he expressed over the bill dominated the headlines on Wednesday in Athens' newspapers.
